ABSTRACT

An intensive study on daily activity budget was carried out for a period of one year from March 2005-Feburary 2006, on Rhesus monkey, residing in Bahu-Fort area in Jammu which lies on a hillock, at an altitude of 325 meters on bank of River Tawi. Average troop size consist of 152 individuals in which adult male to adult female ratio is 1:1.15.Daily activity covers a detailed account of activities like feeding, locomotion, resting, playing and grooming. In addition, an effort has also been made to correlate the effect of various environmental factors on the above mentioned daily activities.
