ABSTRACT

Fly-ash and its combination with lignite and talc based formulations were studied to estimate the genetic variation within the selected organisms and mother culture of the formulations. Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique was used. Qualitative analysis of isolated DNAs were carried out by visual observation of ethidium bromide stained gels. The genetic patterns were almost similar as determined with gel-electrophoresis within the organisms tested. In the present studies no variation in the RAPD patterns was observed within the organism isolated from different carriers, suggested that the isolates and mother culture were containing single clones and no mutant activity developed.
